This efficient RG9-1494 Fuser Film Sleeve will help bring your HP LaserJet printer back to peak condition and prolong its usability. This film sleeve is an essential component of the fusing unit. It works in conjunction with the pressure roller/fuser roller to create the necessary heat and pressure uniformly so that the toner adheres to the paper smoothly and firmly. If you are experiencing frequent paper jams in the fuser section, wrinkled printouts, ghosting, and toner that rubs off easily, the best way to resolve these issues is by replacing your used fuser film. Constructed with durability and seamless compatibility in mind, the fixing film will enable you to maintain your printer and use many early HP LaserJet printers beyond their expected lifespan while producing high-quality printed material.

Preparation & Disassembly
Power Off & Cool Down: Before starting, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Since the fuser unit generates extremely high temperatures during operation, please wait for the machine to cool down completely before handling it to avoid burns.
Careful Disassembly: Be extra careful with the plastic clips and gear positions when removing the fuser unit casing. It is recommended to reverse the disassembly steps during reassembly. Keep track of all screws, springs, and small parts to prevent loss.
Core Installation Details
Protect the Heating Element: Handle the internal ceramic heating element with extreme care during the removal of the old film and the installation of the new one. Avoid applying excessive force to prevent the ceramic element from cracking.
Apply Thermal Grease Correctly: Before installing the new film, apply a thin, even layer of fuser grease to the heating element (do not use too much). Crucial Note: The surface of the fuser film itself must remain completely free of grease. Any grease on the film's surface will cause it to slip, leading to severe paper jams.
Check Orientation & Smoothness: Ensure the new fuser film is installed in the correct orientation and lies flat without any wrinkles. After installation, gently rotate it by hand a few times to confirm it moves smoothly without any resistance.
Inspect Related Parts: It is highly recommended to check the bushings and shaft core of the lower pressure roller for wear. If there is significant wear, replace them and apply an appropriate amount of lubricant to reduce friction and prevent damage to the new film.
Post-Installation Testing
Dry Run / Self-Check: After reassembling all components, do not print immediately. Open and close the printer's front cover to trigger the machine's self-check cycle. Let the printer run through 3-5 idle cycles to allow the fuser film to break in and settle properly.
Print Test Pages: Once the dry run is successful, print several test pages to ensure the print quality is clear and that no paper jams occur.
Anti-Fouling & Purchasing Tips
Avoid Oil Contamination: When handling the new fuser film, it is recommended to wear clean gloves. This prevents skin oils from getting onto the film, which could cause periodic black spots on your printed documents.
Verify Model & Size: Although this film is compatible with various models, there may be minor variations between different printer batches. Before purchasing, it is best to verify the part number on your old film or compare the width and length to ensure a perfect fit.
